Day 152 – The Louisville, Kentucky Spoon

Happy 225th Birthday to Kentucky! On this day in 1792, the Bluegrass State was admitted to the union.

This sugar spoon is a horribly tacky souvenir from Louisville, Kentucky. The horse is looking at us as if to say “yup, Kentucky.”

Both my dad’s paternal side and my mom’s maternal side of the family were in Kentucky in the early 1800s on their way across the country, eventually settling in Washington territory.

Also admitted to the union on this day, but in 1796: Tennessee! Congrats to both states on their lengthy statehoods.

Day 150 – Ooh! That’s a Minneapolis Spoon!

Ya know, some cities just have real nice spoons. Take Minneapolis, Minnesota. Why, this spoon has a nice big skyline right there at the top. Out of alla the features on dis spoon, dat’s da best one, dont’cha know.

It’s not a spendy spoon, nope, but I like it. I dropped this here spoon on the floor a bit ago and yelled “OH FER GEEZ” cuz I was worried I went an’ broke it! But it’s all in one piece, there. Whew.
