This is Freya. She was born in a shelter in Georgia and we adopted her in Seattle. As you can probably tell, she is more than willing to be of assistance when I need a background for a spoon.
In this case, it’s a spoon from Plains, Georgia (pop. 736), birthplace of our 39th president, Jimmy Carter. It has a peanut on it!
Sure, I could have polished this tarnished Washington, D.C. spoon, but somehow it seemed appropriate to leave it as-is. It’s just a crappy, silver-plated spoon anyway. Plus, it’s haunted by the ghost of Merrick Garland. (He passed away, right? That’s why we never had a confirmation hearing?)
